Hearts/Faisal spearhead 4th Week matches

Thu, 21 Sep 2006 Source: GNA

Accra, Sept. 21, GNA -- Accra Hearts Oak and Kumasi King Faisal will keep the One Touch Premiership on fire this weekend as top most clash of the fourth week fixtures at the Ho Stadium on Saturday. Faisal, who until their 3-1 demolishing at the hands of Hearts in pre-season competition early this year, had been a torn in the flesh of the Phobians, and will seek to reaffirm it by picking the three points at stake as well as avenge the pre-season defeat.

The Kumasi lads who are bent on returning to the continental competition next year, have had their campaign backtracked with a 3-2 loss in the last league game by Liberty Professionals and will use the game to restore hope to their campaign but against Hearts, the task looks more daunting.

This is because Hearts have just returned from an unsuccessful continental campaign going through six matches without a single goal nor a win and the last Premiership victory over Heart of Lions at Kpando seems to have revived them for more honours.

Another victory for the Phobians will further boost their morale and atone for the disappointments and pain their followers went thorough after their output in the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions League.

Both sides from all indications will be in no mood to drop any point when they clash in another envisaged thrilling battle. League leaders, Ashgold will also storm the Ho Stadium on Sunday to continue with their mission which could be termed as 93Operation return to Africa=94 as they battle Power FC.

The Miners have since the beginning of the season not hidden their intention to reclaim their glory on the local scene to return to Africa and this has manifested in their impressive outing in the season so far and a replica of such performance is expected to be on exhibition when they square things up with the electricity lads.

Power on the other hand have witnessed unpleasant runs in the league so far and a victory over Ashgold at their adopted home will definitely calm down their nerves.

Back from an unsuccessful mission in Tunisia where they attempted to grab a place in the semi finals of the Champions League, Kotoko return to the Konongo 93Waterloo=94 Park to vent their spleen on Swedru Gamba All Blacks.

Judging from the mood of Kotoko, one could hardly see the Swedru lads surviving a scourge at the hands of the 91Fabulous' lads. Heart of Lions is rated as the underdogs as they trek to the Golden City Park, Berekum to face Arsenals who have an impressive home record, whilst Feyenoord welcome Sekondi Hasaacas at the Swedru Sports Stadium. A treble for Liberty Professional looks possible as they clash against Real Sportive at the Carl Reindorf Stadium at Dansoman with Tano Bofoakwa playing host to Tema Youth at the Coronation Park, Sunyani. Real Tamale United (RTU) will use the Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi as their home base to host Accra Great Olympics.

This follows a three match home ban placed on RTU by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
