THEN FORM A NATIONAL TEAM BY SELECTING THE BEST PLAYERS FROM THE LEAGUE. THIS IS THE SUREST WAY GH CAN BEGIN POSITIONING HERSELF TO PLAYING RESPECTFULLY AT THE WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIS. GET THE PLAYERS TO TRAIN AT NIGHT. PITCH AND HIT BALL AT NITE TIME. IF YOU CAN GET MANY STRIKE OUTS OR HOMERUNS, BASE HITS ETC IN THE DARK. YOUR CHANCES OF SUCEEDING IN THE DAY TIME WILL BE HUGE. ESTABLISH A WEBSITE WHERE PPL LIKE MYSELF CAN GO AND MAKE CREDIT CARD/CASH DONATIONS. WE NEED A MENS BASEBALL TEAM, A WOMENS SOFTBALL TEAM AND A LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL TEAM IN GH.   I can understand and sympathize with your passion for Ghana Baseball to succeed. However what I dont understand is the almost shallow prescriptions that you offer towards that aspiration.
  
  For starters no foreseeable Govt of Ghana will meaningfully sponsor sporting activities that dont give the impression that they can make plenty of money out of which they can easily siphon and steal loads of it un-noticed. Baseball, even though it is played in a few countries, it commands an economy which is probably bigger than that of FIFA. This is something which is either not known or overlooked in Ghana. As a result the sport is under-resourced and unpopular. Now because it is unpopular it does not attract public attention or sponsors.
  
  We cannot compare our level of baseball to that of the countries you mentioned. Over here because the sport is either not known at all or simply unpopular, all kinds of unlikely and incompetent characters elect themselves to run the game. The end result is that baseball is pushed further and further into the background of sporting activities.

  Oh my fellow Ghanaians, let us whole-heartedly embrace baseball. It is a wonderful game with the potential to provide a wonderful means of income for a lot of people. Professional baseball players in the U.S make a ton of money playing this game.The Yankees ' Mariano Rivera was in Ghana a few years ago to promote this sport.If we embrace this game, it would not surprise me to see a Ghanaian playing Major league baseball in ten years' time. Let us start from our schools. It is an alternative sport with a lot of upside. I believe Ghanaians will love it once it is explained and taught to our youngsters.The New York Yankees and Mets could come and build minor league facilities in Ghana. Let's do it, fellas.

  Sorry Palogo, chaskele hasnt got any scientific or recognizable organizational grounding. Its like saying that we should adopt a local Ghanaian language as an official language. It just simply wont work because none of our languages can give a reasonable translation of hundreds of thousands of common every-day words of today such as alto-cumulus, stratosphere, microwave oven, bacteria, virus, gigabyte, megabyte, hard-disk, computer mouse etc etc.
  
  It will take us another thousand years to come up to date with modern international linguistic terms. By that time we will again realize that whilst we were trying without success to get our act together, human society advanced another six thousand years and left us even further behind.
  
  Chaskele is just like baseball so why dont we just adopt baseball as a major sport. I am sure that if ever we get sensible people to run the National Sports Authority and the sporting associations we can even outplay those who claim that they invented the sport. After all some of the best baseball players in the world are long lost relatives of the African Diaspora.

  Much as I'd love to one day see a Ghanaian getting an A-Rod level MLB contract, I don't see it happening any time soon. Unlike basketball, football and boxing, baseball needs a special pitch, a lot of specialized equipment and officials to play, even at the sandlot level. It will never catch on without governmental help. You know, the same government that is busy chopping ex-gratia.
