2024 Election: Don’t vote for a president who can only serve for 4 years – Bawumia advises Ghanaians

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged Ghanaians not to cast their votes for John Dramani Mahama in the pending polls in December.

According to Dr. Bawumia, John Mahama can only serve as president for four years, which he believes is a limited time for someone to make a significant impact on the country and its citizens.

Furthermore, Ghanaians will not be able to hold Mahama accountable since he can’t seek re-election in 2028.

Dr. Bawumia made this statement while engaging with constituents, traditional authorities, and religious leaders in the Eastern Region, as reported by citinewsroom.com.

“If we vote for former President Mahama, he can only become president for four years. Four years, and that is it. He doesn’t have to come back for another election. You wouldn’t see him again in Lower Manya Krobo; he won’t come back; he’ll just take the presidency, and it’s bye-bye, honeymoon, and it’s retirement,” he is quoted saying by citinewsroom.com.

As part of his campaign trail, Dr. Bawumia is engaging in door-to-door engagement, community connects, and meetings with traditional and religious leaders.

The constituencies he has visited so far in the Eastern Region include Akropong, Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo, and Yilo Krobo.
