The National Democratic Congress has announced a new campaign strategy, prioritising door-to-door engagements over large rallies.
This approach, according to the National Chairman of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, aims to foster personal connections with voters, increasing support for the party.
Speaking on Citi FM on July 25, 2024, he explained that the new strategy is geared towards personal voter engagement.
“We want to reach out to the people, house-to-house campaign, retail campaign, that is where the emphasis is going to be. So, what we’re going to do in Tamale is to remind our people that this year, the campaign will be different. We must touch base with the people,” he explained.
The official campaign launch for the party is scheduled for Saturday, July 27, in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale. This was announced by the party's flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, during the 'Get Fit and Ready Mahama Walk' held in Accra on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
He stated that campaign activities should involve all party members, beyond designated roles such as campaign managers and task forces at different levels.
By adopting a door-to-door approach, the NDC is betting on personalised politics to build stronger voter relationships and boost support.
As the campaign season intensifies, the success of this strategy will be a key factor in determining the party's fortunes.
