The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has said that 18,772,795 valid voters are expected to participate in the December 7 general elections, citinewsroom.com reports.
Out of this total, 9,690,173 are women, and 9,082,622 are also men.
According to the media outlet, the EC also announced that 708,282 new voters have been added to the list for the December elections.
Additionally, 332,110 voters have transferred their registration, 2,167 proxy voters, 32,974 people on the exceptions list, and 26,798 people on the multiples list.
During a meeting in Accra on October 1, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa said that most errors in the voter register have been fixed.
While acknowledging that the register is not final and that some mistakes still exist, she assured everyone that the EC is working hard to correct them.
