The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been captured reaching out to citizens for support ahead of the 2024 elections.
In a video shared by his Communications Director, Miracles Aboagye, Bawumia who also serves as the Vice President of the country is seen making calls to engage voters and solicit their support.
He discusses his policies and asks for their backing in the upcoming elections.
In the footage, Bawumia, accompanied by supporters in what Aboagye described as a “call center” set up by the NPP, is heard having conversations with various citizens.
“This is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. How are you doing? ... Okay, thank you. You know, very soon, we will be going to vote in December, and I want your support. Please help me by voting for me and my parliamentary candidate so we can implement new policies. Are you a driver? … I also want to become a driver for change. I want to bring policies that will benefit us all. So, in December, please vote for me,” he told one voter.
In another call, he added, “This is Dr. Bawumia. Yes, it’s really me … I am number one. When I come to the office, I will support market women by providing them loans to trade. When voting, remember to choose number one for the presidential candidate, that's me and support the parliamentary candidate as well. God bless you.”
With less than two months to the December 2024 elections, all political parties are ramping up their campaigns, presenting their policies and messages to win over Ghanaian voters.
The elections are anticipated to be a fierce competition between the two main parties: the NPP, led by Dr. Bawumia, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by former president John Dramani Mahama.
