The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says the 2024 General Elections must not be marred by insults and violence.

He emphasized that the election should be peaceful to ensure continuity in the country’s current pace of development.

Speaking at the Holiness Pentecost Church in the Weija-Gbawe constituency on Sunday, September 1, 2024, Dr. Bawumia said, “We pray for peaceful elections this year. The process is about espousing your ideas and not insults or violence. If you have your ideas, share them, and do not resort to insults or violence.

"We must ensure we maintain peace just as we are enjoying now.”

He called on the congregation to pray for Ghana to continue enjoying peace for development.

Dr. Bawumia, who returned to his campaign after touring some parts of the Eastern Region, will visit Weija-Gbawe, Anyaa-Sowutuom, Domeabra-Obom, and Ngleshie-Amanfrom constituencies, where he will engage with party supporters, clergy, and traditional rulers.
