With just four days left until the December 7 election, the nation is buzzing with political activities as the two leading political parties: the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), prepare to host their final rallies in Accra.

These simultaneous events, scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2024, end months of intense campaigning for one of the most competitive elections in the country’s history.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama, is also gearing up to present a robust assessment of the ruling party's track record, while offering its vision for Ghana’s future.

The party’s rally, themed 'Resetting Ghana – Let’s Finish Strong,’ will take place at Zurak Park at Madina.

It will reiterate the party's commitment to tackle economic challenges, intensify the fight against corruption, and provide a fresh direction for the nation under Mahama’s leadership.

The rally will also position Mahama as a viable alternative to the NPP.

Meanwhile, the NPP’s 'Possibilities Victory Rally' to be held at the UG Sports Directorate Park will focus on the achievements of the Akufo-Addo administration and present their vision for the future under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a statement issued on November 30, 2024, the NPP’s National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, invited members, supporters, and the wider public to attend the rally.

The rally is expected to feature prominent figures of the NPP, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, his running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

These rallies will provide a final platform for the parties to energise their bases, attract floating voters, and reinforce their campaign messages.

The Greater Accra Region, where these rallies will be held, has emerged a critical battleground that could influence the outcome of the elections.

With economic challenges, governance, and youth empowerment at the forefront of voters’ concerns, the events of the coming days are poised to shape the future direction of Ghana.
