Accra, April 4, GNA - Forty-eight leading members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Greater Accra have filed their nomination to contest the 16 constituency primaries.
The party has already completed holding primaries in the remaining 11 Constituencies it lost in Elections 2004 classified as "orphan." The region has 27 Constituencies.
An official list made available to the Ghana News Agency on Friday by the regional secretariat revealed that two people were contesting for Okaikwei South; they were Nana Akomea and Ms Vickie Bright. The two contesting for Ayawaso West Wuogon are; Mr George Isaac Amoo and Mr Abraham O. Amoakohene whilst three were contesting for Ayawaso Central - Sheikh Ibrahim Codjoe Quaye, Alhaji Quaye Mohammed and Archibold M. A. Cobbina.
The four candidates for Ledzokuku are; Mr Benjamin Nmai Sam-Sowah, Mr Samuel Mensah Laryea, Mr Atephen Stanley Quaye and Mrs Gladys Norley Ashitey.
Those for Ablekuma South are; Benjamin Ashaley Brown, Louisa A. Bruce-Quaye, Francis Kojo-Smith and Alexnader Bruce-Appiah; Adenta - Kwadjo Opare-Hammond and Stephen Dee-Larbi.
The four for Klottey Korle are Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah, Nii Adu Daku Mante, Kwame Nyarko Akuffo-Mensah and Samuel James Adjei Tawiah and two for Tema West are Irene Naa-Torshie Addo and Abraham Ossei Aidooh. Five candidates for Krowor are Emmanuel Adjei Boye, Abraham Laryea Odai, Sylvanus C. Afotey Botchway, Joseph Ayikoi Otoo and Patience T. Adjetey Mii-Okpe.
Those for Ablekuma Central are Kwadwo Amoah Wuah, Victor Okuley Nortey, Jonathan Korkwei Quaye and Robert Sarbah while the six for Trobo Amasaman are Samuel Nee Aryeetey Attoh, Fred K. N. Agyeman, Seth Alfred Ankrah, Moses Anim, Felix Maxwell Amanor Boadu and Julius W. L. Nanka Bruce.
Those for Dome Kwabenya are Sarah Adwoa Safo, Franklin Frempong Manso, Kingston Yeboah Peasah and Professor Mike O. Quaye while the six candidates for Okaikoi North are Joseph Darko Mensah, Alex L. J. Armah, John Owusu Afriyie, Kofi Ayisi Teye, Elizabeth K. Tawiah Sackey and Laryea Boye.
The five candidates for Ablekuma North are Anthony A. Adomako, Kofi Ofori, Justice Joe Appiah, Isaac Kwakye Gyasi and David Nana Yaw Asare. The seating MP for Weija, Madam Shirley Ayokor Botchwey stood unopposed, whilst the list for the four contestants for Tema East are yet to be submitted to the regional secretariat.
Mr. Albert Afaglo, NPP Greater Accra Regional Organiser, told the Odododiodioo, Ayawaso East, Ashiaman, Sege, Abokobi Madina, Dade Kotopon and Kpone Katamanso, whilst consolidating operational impact in other four constituencies they won with marginal votes - Krowa, Ablekuma Central, Adenta and Ledzokuku.
