The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Ade Coker has indicated that together with his team, they have targeted five more Parliamentary seats to add to their current seats numbering 27 in the region.

The NDC surpassed the expectations of political connoisseurs in the 2012 parliamentary elections when they won 27 of the 39 parliamentary seats in the Greater Accra Region.

Despite the success achieved, the Greater Accra Chair of the party is of the view that the party can add for more seats in the 2016 elections.

According to him, the seats in question are seats they would have won if the candidates and the associated constituencies had paid attention to petty issues on the ground.

Though he would not reveal details of the said constituencies, he hinted that they were closely contested seats in the Region.

Considered by many has the best Regional Party Chairman in the country, Mr. Ade Coker said that programs were in place to ensure that the remains the most popular in the country.

“We are already the most popular in the country and all we have to do is to serve the people, deliver on our promises and the good people of Ghana would not give us thumbs down”

The celebrated football administrator’s current position as the Regional Chairman of the party is being eyed by a number of people and he had this to say to his opponents, who he chose to call brothers.

“I am unperturbed by the competition because it is what has made the NDC what is it today so I welcome my brothers to bring it on”

He was however quick to advise them to desist from any kind of negative approach to ensure that cohesion is built without difficulty after the elections.

He said that the success he achieved together with his executives in the 2012 elections is appreciated by the delegates and they would therefore not allow themselves to be misled by individuals who have not been tested but are seeking to brightened their chances by making wild allegations without evidence.

“Our delegates know what the party needs in the 2016 elections and that does not include changing a winning team”

He indicated that Ghana is returning to its glory days under Presided John Mahama and the Free Secondary Education slated for 2015 is an indication of the party’s vision for the nation.

According to him, the commitment of the NDC government towards education is compared to none.

“In our first term in office, we dedicated huge chunk of our budget building and improving educational infrastructure in the country“ He said.

“The free school uniform, free laptops, free books and the removal of schools under trees attest our attitude education and no informed person will question this’ He concluded.
