THE ROLE OF TESCON.

Good morning friends of the media, it is with much pleasure that Tescon UDS Wa campus chapter invites you to talk on the need for peaceful parliamentary primaries in the NPP.

We the members of Tescon as part of our efforts to ensure that the NPP remains united, resolute and well focused to have peaceful, transparent, free and fair parliamentary primaries, wish to add our voice to the clarion call for this exercise to be conducted in the supreme interest of the party. The NPP has successful elected a flagbearer, through an unprecedented unique electoral process. first of it kind in Africa and came out more united and resolute, we think there is no other time and opportunity to consolidate these gains made so far tan the impending parliamentary primaries.

The whole political lens is now focusing on the NPP to see if such character and attitude will be replicated in these parliamentary primaries.

Yes indeed, UDS Wa chapter is of he firm believe that the npp will pass this test with distinction. We believe also that the success of the parliamentary primaries depends largely on the party’s machinery and the actions as well as inactions of the party faithfuls and sympathizers.

Though bitter and experience, it is worth recalling that, our lost of office to the NDC in the 2008 election, cannot be analyzed without the mention of the various hiccups that characterized the parties parliamentary primaries that year.

Following what has been done so far by the party’s machinery, we give a heroic salute to the national, regional, constituency and polling station executives for their innovative and prudent measures the party which we think will result in the fairness and success of these primaries. However, we call on the national, regional, constituency executives to be bold in taking any decision after the intended 30th April parliamentary primaries. They should also be fair and open to every aspirant who is intending to run for parliament. Also, they must not sponsor, collaborate or support any candidate in these primaries. This will reduce the possibility of defeated candidates running as independent.

But that not withstanding, we think the party’s name will be written in GOLD, if all players thus national, regional, constituency and polling station executives and more importantly the council of elders in whose hands reside wisdom should live up to their utmost expectation.

In furtherance of this, the above mentioned is achievable if we all sacrifice, commit resources and of course unleash energy to accomplish the noble course. It is only when this is done, that the good people of Ghana who regrettable brought the NDC’s government in to power will repose confidence in the NPP and vote us back to power.

Remember, buffalo horns ate not to be cut with a single hand, so let’s work hand-in-hand to recapture power in 2012. Surely, we shall be back in 2012.

Long live Tescon

Long live NPP

Long live Ghana
