The Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has questioned the effectiveness of former President Mahama's policies for the youth and the country in general.

Addressing thousands of young people in Akyem Asafo in the Abuakwa South Constituency of the Eastern Region, Dr. Bawumia said that having been President before, booted out of office, and rejected again, Mahama has still not shown a clear vision for the country.

"As I have been saying, I have never been President before. But my opponent has been President before," Dr. Bawumia said.

"The good people of Ghana gave him the opportunity, but he performed poorly and became the only President to be voted out of office for poor performance. He came again, and he was rejected again."

"He has still not shown a clear vision for the youth and the country. I have not been president before, and I have outlined my new vision and bold solutions for Ghana, which includes a clear vision for the youth in many areas including education, TVET, ICT training, and many more," he said.

Having clearly distinguished his policies from those of Mahama, Bawumia then proceeded to ask the huge crowd questions based on some of Mahama's promised policies.

"Is it nkoko nketenketen (rearing of small-scale chicks)? Is it the rearing of guinea fowls? Is it 24-hour discos and nightclubs?" Bawumia asked, to which the crowd responded, "No."

"A vote for John Mahama is a vote for a second-hand President with no clear vision for the youth and for Ghana. And a vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a vote for a brand-new, tear-rubber President with a new vision for the youth and Ghana."
