The Atwima-Kwanwoma District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education, Mr Kofi Akoto Boateng, has called on all political parties to accept to play it fair and avoid intimidating their opponents.

This, he said, was important to prevent violent clashes ahead of the December general elections adding that they should be more responsible in their conduct to protect the peace and grow the country’s multi-party democracy.

Mr Boateng said this when was speaking at a meeting of the district’s inter-party dialogue committee at Foase and participating were representatives of the political parties, security agencies, traditional and religious leaders, the media, electoral commission and the district assembly.

They discussed effective ways to promote political tolerance and remove violence from this year’s polls in the area.

Mr Boateng stressed the need for regular interactions among the parties and other stakeholders to tackle issues likely to fuel tension and nasty clashes.

He advised the youth to refuse to do the bidding of politicians out there to create trouble.
