Exposed!!!
It is for a good reason that The Informer last week, in one of its publications, made a humbly appeal to the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Justice Joyce Adeline Bamford-Addo, to do every thing humanly possible, within the power vested in her to protect the sanctity of the august house, following the awful attitude of some Members of Parliament (MPs).
Even before one Moses McCarthy, an employee of the M & M Group, could get the nod to represent the people of the Ada Constituency in the Greater Accra Region in Parliament, he has been captured by the convex lenses of The Informer, defrauding unsuspecting members of the general public, under the guise of securing them a vehicle to buy. This is apart of few complaints that have come to our notice.
Parading himself as an auctioneer, Mr. Moses McCarthy, aided by a Lawyer (name withheld for now), who doubles as his conciliator, is on record to have duped people of substantial amount of money, ranging between Ten-to-Twelve Thousand Ghana Cedi (Gh¢10,000-12,000), with the promise of getting them auction cars to buy.
Currently in the possession of this paper, are official receipt Numbers 001603 and 001608 that he issued to two of his victims, Albert Adjei and Samuel Tei-Muno, from whom, he collected amount of Twelve Thousand Ghana Cedi (Gh¢12, 000.00) each.
According to the documents which we shall provide for readers’ judgment, the failed National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Ada Constituency, after his bonanza in securing the said amounts, assured each of the personalities mentioned above, a use of Toyota Rav 4 Car, but has since failed to deliver the vehicles.
Narrating their ordeal to The Informer, the victims said they both paid Mr. Moses McCarthy in the month of February this year; but still have not received any car from him as promised.
“In fact, it has been stories upon stories anytime we called him to demand our money”, they both pointed out.
“We have done all we can to get our monies back, but to no avail, even to the extent that he could no longer contact him on phone to ask him for our money”, they added, and call on the various security agencies, particularly the police, to come to their aid.
However, investigations conducted has it that, Mr. Moses McCarthy has duped a good number of people under similar circumstances.
This paper’s checks also reveal that the character in question contested the NDC Parliamentary primaries at Ada but lost miserably to one Ms. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe.
We thank God that he did not get the nod to represent the NDC in this year’s Parliamentary elections since he is not credible and urge the NDC to cross check people’s background before expecting their nominations to contest for position in the party.
