Akosua Asaa Manu, popularly known as Kozie, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Adentan constituency in the Greater Accra region, has initiated the construction of a major road in the area.

The road project, which has commenced, aims to address longstanding infrastructural challenges in the constituency.

In an interview on July 9, 2024, Kozie who doubles as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA) highlighted the poor condition of the Container Lakeside Road and its impact on the community.

"The Container Road has been here for a long time, and the state of the road is very bad. The Container Lakeside Road is one of the roads I think needs to be fixed because, during my campaign time, I realized that roads are some of the major concerns.

"So, after consulting with some of the ministries, I have brought in a contractor to begin the construction of the road," she stated.

Kozie assured residents that the road, covering approximately 2.7 kilometers, would be completed by September 2024.

She also requested patience from the New Adentan community, acknowledging that the construction process might cause temporary inconveniences.

"I want to plead with the members of the New Adentan community to bear with us because the construction of roads comes with a lot of inconveniences so that we can finish it for the benefit of all of us," Kozie said.

Alfred, the road supervisor, confirmed in an interview that the construction work had begun and emphasized the rigorous testing conducted to ensure the use of high-quality materials.

"We have begun the construction of the road. There have been several tests conducted on the road to determine the quality of materials that need to be used. Because of the construction, there will be a bit of diversion of the road, which may cause traffic, so they should bear with us on that," he explained.

The commencement of the road project has been met with enthusiasm from local commuters and drivers, who expressed their happiness and relief at the much-needed improvements.
