The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has urged the youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region to intensify their campaign activities by promoting the party's good works to people on the streets, at workplaces, churches, mosques, homes, and social events.

According to her, breaking the eight-year governance cycle by the UP tradition will require significant effort, highlighting the need for the youth to target their peers in their campaign efforts, as they constitute the majority of the country's population.

"We have a very good story to tell the Ghanaian youth. Most of the policies introduced by the Nana Addo-Bawumia government are youth-centered. The digitalization drive spearheaded by our flagbearer, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, has created many jobs for the youth.

"The implementation of the free-SHS policy has also addressed one of the most pressing needs of the vulnerable, who previously couldn't afford to send their children to senior high school because of the high tuition fees. From the transport sector to the manufacturing sector, our footprints are there for you to refer to. It is possible to break the eight when we increase our efforts in promoting our achievements to the people," she noted.

The former Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection made this observation when she met with the party's youth wing in different constituencies in the Ashanti Region during her campaign tour on Saturday, April 21, 2024.

The National Youth Organizer, Salam Mustapha, and regional party executives accompanied her.

Safo, the lead campaigner for the NPP in the country's middle belt, further urged the youth to tout the government's achievements in their own constituencies, as many developmental projects have been initiated to improve the living standards of the people.

Citing the One-District-One-Factory policy initiative to support her claim, the first female deputy Majority Leader of Ghana's Parliament said most of these factories are operational and serving the people's needs at both local and national levels.

She added that road infrastructure projects, Agenda 111 hospital projects, and STEM educational complex facilities are visible infrastructure projects the youth could highlight as part of the party's achievements. She noted that the propaganda machinery of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) must be countered with facts.

She commended the youth for always rising to the occasion for the party and expressed her belief that "with their increased efforts in promoting the party's achievements, breaking the eight-year governance cycle is possible."
