The National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has emphasized that the party's campaign to win 50% of votes in the opposition's stronghold in the Eastern Region, is very well grounded.
The Ashanti region is the opposition New Patriotic Party's (NPP) strongest base followed by the Eastern Region, where the flagbearer of the opposition, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, hails.
According to Mr Kofi Adams, the party's Agenda 50 – 50 was grounded on the very good work and strong development track record that the John Dramani Mahama-led administration had put on the ground in the region.
He cited the massive infrastructural development put in by the government amongst others, the eastern corridor roads, the provision of portable water, the opening up of education facilities and the provision of seedlings for farmers.
He added that people in the region were looking for development and that was why the traditional regent in the area, Okyehene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panyin; had criticized the government in the past but recently praised it for their good job.
The outspoken organizer was speaking on Accra-based Radio Gold.
He took a jibe at the opposition leader, Nana Addo; who he said had nothing to offer the people of his region except the infamous 'all-die-be-die' statement and other tribally inflammable statements.
