The Ahafo Ano North Constituency is facing internal turmoil as allegations have been made against the constituency executives, including Francis Bismark Osei, Sarfo Sowah Samson, and I.K. Acheampong.

It is claimed that their actions are making the NPP unpopular in the constituency, as they are accused of running the party as if it were their own property and disregarding the structures put in place by the National Executive Council (NEC) to unite and strengthen the party's position.

Following the party's parliamentary primaries, the executives have, on several occasions, been accused of exhibiting attitudes that are detrimental to the party's success in the constituency.

Kwaku Fosu Frimpong, a parliamentary aspirant during the primaries, has faced opposition from the executives and has been unable to reconcile with them, as some aggrieved members of the party have revealed.

According to them, despite his attempts to unite and contribute to the party's campaign efforts, he has been consistently pushed away by the individuals.

"Frimpong has made efforts to schedule meetings with the executives, particularly the constituency chairman and secretary, but they have declined and used unnecessary cover-ups to avoid meeting with him.

"They are behaving as if we are now heading to our party's parliamentary primaries," they lamented.

Frimpong had informed the National Officer in charge of the constituency, Dr. Nsiah Asare, of his intention to support the limited voter registration exercise and Dr. Bawumia’s campaign with GHC5,000 and a vehicle.

Despite receiving positive feedback from Dr. Nsiah Asare, the constituency executives allegedly rejected Frimpong's support, claiming that he was trying to make himself popular.

A secret video recording captured the constituency chairman categorically rejecting Frimpong's offer with support from others, leading to the abrupt end of the meeting.

Frimpong has, however, accused the executives of misconduct over the months, which has negatively impacted the party's image in the constituency.

He believes that the executives are working in the interest of the NPP's candidate and the NADMO Director General, Eric Nana Agyeman-Prempeh, at the expense of the party.

He cited a similar reaction prior to the limited voter registration exercise in 2023, when he attempted to support the process, but the executives rejected his offer to support it.

Frimpong has raised concerns that the executives' actions may affect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's electoral fortunes in the constituency if not addressed promptly.

He is calling on the regional and national leadership to intervene, as he fears that the NPP in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency is being gradually undermined.
