The Progressive People’s (PPP) Party branch in the Birim Central municipality of the Eastern Region has elected their constituency executive to lead them to the next election.

About 100 delegates voted to elect Mr Suleman Saeed as their chairman, Mr John Azilla as the vice chairman, Mr Richard Ampabeng as the secretary, Mr Gideon Bekoe as the organiser and Mr Samuel Kwabena Nketia as the youth organiser. The women’s organiser, communication director and treasurer were also elected.

The executive members were sworn in by the Eastern Regional Organiser of the PPP, Mr Hayford Odartey.

Mr Kofi Asamaoh Siaw, the National Secretary for the party, said it was time the party engaged in the administration of the affairs of the state and that they needed the support of members in and outside the party.

Mr Siaw used the platform to appeal to the government to make the district chief executive positions elective ones.
