Akim Awisah, Oct. 29, GNA - The Akim Swedru Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday returned all members of its executive unopposed except for the post of the organiser, which was contested and won by Mr Salifu Jafaru at a delegates' congress held at Akim Awisah.

Addressing the delegates earlier, the Eastern Regional Organizer of NDC, Mr Tawiah Boateng, commended them for keeping faith with the Party over the years and urged them to work extra hard to unseat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in the 2008 elections. He said the NDC had done a lot to raise the living standard of Ghanaians during its reign and charged activities to "sell" its laudable achievements to the people, especially the youth.

Mr Boateng called on the government to put a hold on the diaspora voting idea and rather channel such resources to the Electoral Commission to carry out its work efficiently.

The Regional Youth Organizer, Mr Kweku Asamoah, called for unity among Party supporters at all times to enable them to win more floating voters to their fold.

He charged them to be prepared to counteract any negative propaganda that might be waged by NPP supporters against the NDC both on the airwaves, vehicles and at social gatherings.

On behalf of the Executives, Mr Kwakye thanked the delegates for the confidence repose in them and assured that they would live up to expectation.
