The national executives of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) have congratulated the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on his historic victory is last Wednesday’s presidential election.
A statement signed by the national chairman of GFP, Kwaku Abankwa, and released in Accra, Monday, wished the President-elect God’s guidance and wisdom as he ascends the throne of the high office of the land.
However, the party executives expressed the belief that Akufo-Addo’s long wait for the presidency has prepared him enough for the high office of the land and the responsibilities that come with it.
While wishing him well, the party executives also reminded him of his pledge of fighting corruption during the electioneering campaign.
“We know for sure as president-elect you are much aware of element such as corruption and bribery which has been the bane of Ghana’s development and thus, humbly remind you to tackle it with all the urgency to give meaning to your vision and promises in bringing the desired prosperity and socio-economic development to Ghanaians”, the statement in part noted.
