President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo
A founding member of the New Jersey branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the United States of America has criticized President Akufo-Addo, describing his performance as poor.
Nana Atta Boamah says President Akufo-Addo, who promised to govern with accountability, transparency, and integrity, has failed his party and the people of Ghana.
Speaking on the sidelines of the branch's 30th-anniversary celebration, he lamented that the Akyems had hijacked the party.
He opined that "the party currently lacks leadership," adding that Nana Addo has "failed the NPP. Why? He came in and swore to us that he would use discipline and accountability; he failed."
“Look at what is going on in Ghana. The party doesn’t belong to the Akyem people. How many Akyem people in Ghana are registered to vote?”
He issued a warning to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the party's leadership to tread cautiously.
He specifically mentioned Presidential Advisor Yaw Osafo Marfo and others, whom he said have hijacked the party, urging them to sit back and allow the party to function properly.
