Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolga Central Constituency, Mr Isaac Adongo is at a loss as to why members of the ruling government want former President John Dramani Mahama to be hanged because he prescribed Obinim stickers for his successor, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his team of 110 Ministers
He disclosed that the current President while in opposition in bastardizing the then President said worse things about him even though he is an elder in view of his age compared to Mr Mahama and was expected to behave otherwise.
“What did we not hear Akufo-Addo say about John Mahama while in opposition? Today NPP members are all over the place accusing him of not behaving like an elderly statesman. Why did they not say that when Akufo-Addo who is older was all over the place saying worse things? This is double standards”, he observed.
According to him, Akufo-Addo and his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia linked the former President to things that had no correlation with his government but he stomached all they said in the interest of democracy.
“What have they not said about Mahama…if we were going to reply in equal measure it would not have been good for the country because of the things are better not said”, he stressed.
Background
It would be recalled at the Wa version of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Unity Walk a week ago, Mr Mahama claimed the ‘super incompetence’ of the current administration could only be cured if they laid hands stickers of the controversial man of God, Daniel Obinim
The sticker which is said to work wonders, the former President said must be given to the sitting President and his government so they can perform better.
The trend is based on hilarious and outrageous claims people are making and attributing it to a miraculous sticker from Bishop Daniel Obinim, the founder, and leader of International God’s Way Church.
Apparently, church members of Obinim give testimonies at his church regarding the wonderful things the sticker has done for them ever since they bought it. And that has sparked the Obinim Sticker Challenge On Social Media.
“I have been watching social media lately, and there’s something that has come, and I think it cures everything. It’s the Obinim sticker, the President and his government need an Obinim sticker. If it really works, then I think they need the sticker. So I am saying that we cannot depend on their incompetence, we need to work hard to gain the support of the electorate,” Mahama said.
His comments have been criticized by some elements within the ruling government as they sought to suggest they are undeserving of a statesman
