'Nana Akufo-Addo threatened to kill me because I endorsed Candidate Kufour in 1998'- Freddie Blay's brother

In the lead up to the 1998 Congress which saw then candidate Kufuor winning resoundingly by over 90% in Sunyani, scores of the media were divided relative to the support on participating candidates. Kweku Baako Junior and his Daily guide at that time endorsed Candidate Nana Akufo-Addo and they were safe and free to do that. Candidate Kufour never begrudges them.

Veteran journalist and cousin of Fraudy Blay, Kabral Blay Amirehi gave a vivid account on how candidate Nana Akufo-Addo accosted , threatened, bewitched and abused him for granting editorial space to Candidate Kufuor in his 'INDEPENDENT' Newspaper

Mr. Kabral Blay laid this worrying and interesting reservation in his book titled " Fighting for Freedom, the Autobiography of An Africa Journalist"

In the book, Mr. Kabral Blay indicated that "Candidate Nana Addo attacked me with threatening language openly at a Ghana Journalist Association's (GJA) program over my newspaper, the 'INDEPENDENT' , endorsing his main contender Candidate John Agyekum Kufour ahead of the1998 NPP Sunyani congress."

It is against this backdrop that sections of Ghanaians believe that the unintelligent and coward decisions taking by the management of despite group targeted at favoring their 'contraband' business partners who are deemed in the public as 'hot-headed alien actors' in our politics, will rather lead the DESPITE GROUP OF COMPANIES into the ditch. Management of Despite Group of companies, in recent times, have divorced assertiveness, firmness, courage and sane decision making. Cowardice and bias have no place in this contemporary world of business and politics. They started with Afia Schwarzenegger, Now it is the venerable Lawyer Adakabre Frimpong-Manso and Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie.

Intolerance has always stayed with Nana Akufo-Addo. He has never believed in Politics of diversity and the flourishing of divergent views . Prior to 2012, Nana Akufo-Addo chased with undue pressure the CEO of Asempa Fm Kwasi Twum , to dismiss broadcast journalist Bobie Ansah . The reasons of Akufo-Addo were that Bobie Ansah was a constant critique of Nana Akufo-Addo's infamous 'ALL DIE BE DIE'. Ironically, after losing elections with this unloved and shunned campaign message , Nana Akufo-Addo on star Fm, publicly apologized over this unholy and terrorist alarm 'ALL DIE BE DIE'.

Despite Group of companies must stop subduing to the pressures of intolerant and falsely decorated politicians
