Akwatia Constituency NDC elect executives

Sakyikrom (E/R), Dec. 2, GNA - The Akwatia Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has elected new executives and retained its Chairman Mr Cephas Wutoh. Mr Wutoh defeated the party's Member of Parliament from 1993 to 1997, Mr Gilbert Kwasi Agyei by 169 to 36 votes. The position of Vice- Chairman went to Mr Henry Boakye, popularly known as Okoyo who polled 181 votes to beat Mr Enoch Graham who attracted 22 votes.

Mr Kwaku Ofori Abrokwah retained his position as Secretary beating Mr Kwesi Sekyi by 174 votes to 28. Mr Charles Dakudzi was elected as Assistant Secretary, whilst Mr Ernest Kwame Ankrah won the position of Organiser beating Mr Samuel Agbeko by 158 votes to 44.

The position of Deputy Organiser went to Mr Michael Quarshie unopposed. Mr Fuseini Salifu was also elected unopposed for the post of Treasurer. The position of Deputy Treasurer went to Mr Tanko Taminu Dankokoa who beat Mr Joseph Adomako by 144 votes to 58.

Miss Felicia Ama Dakoa polled 73 votes as against Miss Christina Bediako who had 14 votes to emerge as Women Organiser. Miss Mary Fouda was elected unopposed as Deputy Women Organiser. Mr David Dakudzi was elected Youth Organiser, whilst the position of Deputy Youth Organiser was won by Mr John K. Dugba.

Mr Noble Gblorkpor took the position of Propaganda Secretary. Nana Kwaku Afisah won the position of Deputy Propaganda secretary. Mr Baba Jamal, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister told the delegates that the battle of the NDC to win the 2012 General Election was going to be harder than 2008. He said only those who could stand up to the challenge needed to be elected to execute the task ahead. 2 Dec. 09
