Alhaji Ibrahim Dori, a member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Chief Executive Officer of I. A. DORI Enterprise Limited, has declared his intention to contest the Bawku Central seat.
By declaring his intention, Alhaji Dori would be contesting Mr Mahama Ayariga, the Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, who is also the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Alhaji Dori, said his main priority was to bring development to the area, as well as empower the youth and women, by creating jobs for them.
He said the NDC needed to retain the Bawku Central seat in the December 2016 general elections.
"It is imperative that a pragmatic leader is elected as MP to complement the work of President John Dramani Mahama," he said.
“I am a youth activist and a crusader for the vulnerable, with a passion to develop my community and I am availing myself to contest the Bawku Central seat to help bring development to the area,” he added.
He described himself as a unifier and peace maker, saying that, he would use his office if elected to represent the party and to unify the people of the area.
Alhaji Dori called on the rank and file of the party in the constituency to support his candidature at the upcoming parliamentary primaries.
Alhaji Dori is the Managing Director of I. A. DORI Enterprise Limited, a Roads and Building Construction firm and a graduate from the University of Ghana, Legon.
