The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has said that Ghanaians need an experienced personality like himself to lead the country to the digital age the world is heading to. The experienced hands, he said, is his ability to move Ghana to the digital age the world is driving to.

Explaining why he needed to lead the battle, the Vice President appealed to Ghanaians to give him the mandate to steer the affairs of the country.

Speaking to hundreds of clergymen at the McKeon temple in Kumasi, on Monday, the NPP flagbearer who believes the modern world is heading towards a digital drive, said it was time Ghanaians gave the chance to someone who is well vested in that field.

Known as a digital man, the Vice President said the right person who suits that position is him.

"You see, the entire world including Ghana, is heading towards the digital age. Now, let me ask, which one of us do you think is best fit for the position? Of course, it's Mr. Digital. I, Bawumia is the right person to take Ghana to that level," he said.

According to him, when it comes to accountability, he is assuring Ghanaians of his commitment, adding that he is not like John Dramani Mahama who is not accountable.

He also revealed that Mahama's only 4 years to be spent in government is going to be a waste of time. He however reiterated his commitment to take Ghana to the next level.

Dr. Bawumia said this during a meeting with over a thousand clergymen at the McKeon temple, as part of his four-day familiarization tour in the region.

Before his meeting with the clergymen, the Vice President had met with the Black Stars players to encourage them ahead of their match against the Central Africa Republic. Apart from meeting with the players, he also met with the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs, and the Ashanti Regional Muslim community at the regional mosque.

Lastly, he ended his meeting with professional bodies such as doctors, nurses, teachers, journalists etc. In each of his interactions, he outlined his vision for the next chapter and paved the way for questions from the individuals.
