A businessman, Mr. Eric Samuel Annor-Mensah, is set to battle Osei Bonsu Amoah popularly known as OB Amoah in the upcoming New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries at the Akuapem South constituency of the Eastern Region.
Mr. Annor-Mensah who has presented his nomination forms to contest the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries after parading through the major streets in Aburi is focused on job creation as a means to uplift especially the youth in the constituency when voted into power.
In the company of his wife and other party members, he deposited a non-refundable amount of GHC52,000 as accompanying fees to the Constituency Chairman of the party. The presentation which took place at the constituency office in Aburi on Wednesday was characterized by cheers of approval and fanfare from his supporters.
Mr. Annor-Mensah who is also an entrepreneur, interacting with the media expressed elation at the overwhelming support he received from the people that propelled him to make the decision to contest.
He promised to ensure that the youth get jobs to do when elected to lead the constituency in parliament.
Already, hundreds of youth in the area have received skill training under the Annor-Mensah foundation which has existed for about 5 years.
He has begun negotiation to establish a motorcycle assembly plant and a pineapple factory in the constituency which will go a long way to reduce unemployment in the area.
He appealed to delegates to make the bold decision to change the face of the constituency to bring vibrancy and new ideas to propel the fortunes of the constituency by voting him as the parliamentary candidate for the Akuapem South Constituency.
“We need new energy and I am coming with that energy. I am ready to serve and I am ready to make this constituency the envy of many. We will work together and make things happen together” he said after submitting his forms.
Mr. Annor-Mensah called on his supporters to be decorous in their campaigns and pledged to work collaboratively with all groups in the constituency to improve the political fortunes of the NPP in the general election.
