The Young Democrats, a pro-NDC pressure group, are demanding the arrest of certain members of NPP as well as of the pro-NPP pressure group Let My Vote Count Alliance.
The Young Democrats in a petition to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) listed a number of events, including a bomb threat allegedly masterminded by members of the Let My Vote Count Alliance, as enough justification for the arrest of some of its leaders.
The pro-NDC group specifically named Ernest Owusu Bempah as one of those who must be arrested.
Among the NPP leaders the group wants arrested are; Manhyia South MP Mathew Opoku Prempeh, for an alleged shooting incident in his constituency prior to the December elections last year, and Maxwell Kofi Jumah, over an alleged attack on the President’s brother at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi.
The Deputy Communications Director of the Young Democrats, Abass Osabutey, in an interview with XYZ News said the group will hit the streets if the police fail to arrest those named.
