Konongo (Ash), March 18, GNA - Nana Adu Asabere, Chairman of the Asante-Akim North Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the Party's youth to mount a massive campaign to canvass for more votes to enable the Party retain its seat in upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.
He said in a desperate attempt to retain the seat of government in the 2008 elections, the Party depended on the vibrant youth to use its exuberance to convert floating votes to the party to ensure a landmark victory in the upcoming elections.
Nana Asabere was addressing party faithful at a ceremony held at Konongo at the weekend to inaugurate the Party's youth wing in the constituency.
Mr George Frimpong, the Municipal Chief Executive, urged members to bury all differences and unite to choose a suitable parliamentary candidate for the area.
He commended the youth for their steadfastness and boldness to defend the Party at all times in the constituency. Mr Victor Owusu, Chairman of the youth wing, commended the government for creating jobs for the youth and called for extra support to eradicate poverty in the area.
