Mon, 4 Dec 1995 Source: --

Kumasi (ASH) The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidates in Ashanti Region, have re affirmed their unflinching support for the formation of an alliance of all opposition parties in the country to contest the 1996 general elections. They therefore urged the negotiating team, working out modalities for the alliance to speed up the process for an early and swift take off. The support was expressed in a resolution adopted at the end of a meeting of the NPP parliamentary candidates association of the Ashanti region held here. The association which comprises all NPP parliamentary candidates in the region was formed in 1993 with the sole aim of sharing logistics and pooling resources of the constituencies to win all the 33 seats in the region. The candidates assured the general public that NPP was
as united as before and that any member of the party has the democratic right to contest for any vacant post. The resolution however urged all aspirants of vacant positions to play the game according to the dictates of the party's constitution.
