The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has commended the people of the Northern Region for rekindling their support for former President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking at the final rally of his campaign tour in Dorimon, a community in the Wa West Constituency of the Upper West Region, Nketiah expressed confidence that the five Northern Regions will turn "green" in favour of the NDC in the upcoming elections.
He criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for failing to complete development projects initiated under the NDC and John Mahama.
He argued that this neglect, despite Dr Bawumia being a native of the Northern Region, demonstrates a lack of respect for the area and its people.
"The NDC is poised to win across the Northern Regions," he asserted, adding that even with both leading candidates from the north, the NDC's track record stands stronger with the people.
The tour, which marked Nketiah's final campaign stop in the north, covered the North East Region, Savannah Region, and Upper West Region, culminating in a renewed call for the north to support the NDC and bring progress to the region.
