Assembly endorses DCE

Zabzugu, (N/R) July 5, GNA - The Zabzugu/Tatale district Assembly in the Northern Region has endorsed Alhaji Yakubu Bukari, the President's nominee as the District Chief Executive for Zabzugu/Tatale District Assembly in absentia. He polled 39 votes representing 92.8 percent to be confirmed.

Out of the 43 Assembly Members, 42 were present at the emergency meeting to cast their votes. One assembly member was absent and three Assembly Members voted against his endorsement.

In his remarks, the Northern Regional Minister Alhaji Abubakari Saddique Boniface expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and assured the Assembly that when Alhaji Yakubu Bukari takes over office he will continue to bring his capability and expertise to bear on the development of the district. Alhaji Boniface expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the cooperation of the youth in the area.

In his welcoming address, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr. Edward Atta Abebe Dawuni called on those who have not been nominated not to withdraw the support they would have given to the district. Mr Dawuni said it is his hope that they will give the DCE the needed support and cooperation when he takes over the office.

He commended the assembly members for the unity and cooperation, which exists between the assembly members, the DCE, the workers of the district and the entire people of the district.
