The Assembly Member for Otaten Electoral Area in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Patrick Kpakpo, has promised to purchase a refuse truck for the area if he is retained in office in the March 3 elections.

The truck, he said, would aid the work of the waste management companies in the regular collection and disposal of garbage to improve sanitation in the community.

Mr. Kpakpo popularly known as ‘’ Home Boy,’’ is a 48- year-old businessman.

He told the GNA in an interview that to arrest the perennial water shortage, which was a major problem confronting the area, he had sunk a bore-hole, which had ensured that people had regular supply of water all year round.

He said he had also constructed a 14-seater toilet-facility and seven bathrooms for residents in the community, and had plans to replicate the facilities to other parts of the electoral area once he was able to acquire suitable plots of land.

As a sign of goodwill towards his people, Mr. Kpakpo said, he always provided music free of charge with his musical instruments to the bereaved families in the electoral area.

To make vehicular movements easier, the assembly member said he had lobbied and gotten some roads in the area graded notably, that from Odorkor Traffic Lights to Kpogas, Ali Park to Police Quarters, and Asoredanho to Yegoala Hotel, which are all by-passes.

The Millennium Basic School, which is the only government school in the electoral area, he said, would be given attention and put to good shape through the collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North and the Sub-Metro.

Poor drainage system, which is a major problem confronting the people of Otaten, he said, would be prioritised to reduce the incidence of floods anytime it rained heavily.

Mr. Kpakpo gave the assurance he would work closely with unit committee members to push the development of Otaten devoid of partisan politics, and therefore, appealed to the electorates to retain him
