Obuasi, Sept. 29, GNA - Mr Prince Agyei-Badu, assemblyman-elect for Bogobri Electoral Area in the Obuasi municipality, has said he will provide the kind of leadership that will lead the people into drawing up a four-year development plan for the area.

He said the plan would serve as a guide for all the electorate to know what was expected of them at a moment towards the meaningful development of the electoral area.

Mr Agyei-Badu, who won 629 votes as against his opponent, James Adabor's 535 votes to reclaim the seat he lost in 2002, appealed to the electorate to always respond positively to community meetings so that collectively they could come out with a development plan that will be owned by all and not by a few.

At a press briefing at Obuasi to thank the electorate for his victory, the assemblyman-elect called for unity and understanding amongst the entire electorate, since without unity, there could not be any progress in the area.

He said once the elections were over, the electorate should forgive and forget any action that might have affected any person during the campaign period.

Mr Agyei-Badu declared, "What we need now is meaningful development and not disunity, antagonism, acrimony and other divisive tendencies".

He appealed to the supporters of both the victor and the loser to see themselves, as one person and avoid attitudes that would fire up electoral violence.

"I want to appeal to all, especially the youthful supporters to remain calm and nobody should initiate anything that will lead to violence in the electoral area".

Mr Agyei-Badu expressed his gratitude to all the electorate for not only voting for him, but ensured a peaceful conduct of the district level elections in all polling stations in the electoral area.
