The Association of Political Parties in Ghana (APPG) is a new organization that is been formed by a group of Registered Political Parties in Ghana with the main purpose of protecting the interest of their very survival on the political landscape of Ghana. The Association believes that the current political system of Ghana needs serious changes and we are ever ready to change that unfriendly system.

The Association would offer constructive ideas as well as political and socio-economic policies that would move Ghana forward to a best destination of sound economic prosperity. The Association would help to hold democracy of Ghana together.

The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), the Electoral Commission of Ghana, the media and the major political parties such as NDC and NPP does not respect the relevance of the so-called smaller parties, and most at times we are sidelined by these organizations as far as the socio-economic and the practice of multi-democracy in Ghana is concern.

The formation of this association is an opportunity to give recognition and platform to the registered political parties in Ghana who efforts and contributions are not been recognized by the media, IEA and the Electoral Commission of Ghana. The Association shall be a powerful tool for the sponsorship of political parties who are struggling to survive.

The Association in collaboration with donor agencies and non-governmental organizations shall organize Presidential debates for the Presidential Candidates of member Parties.

The Association shall also offer alternative solutions to the political and socio-economic challenges facing Ghanaians. Several press release, conferences, seminars and demonstrations shall be organized by the association to mount pressure on the Government to provide better governance to the good people of Ghana.

The Association of Political Parties in Ghana (APPG) held its first meeting today (31st July 2014) at exactly 2:00pm at the Head Office of Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) at Citadel House, Kaneshie, Accra. The following Political Parties Representatives were in attendance:

The Association would like to use this medium to extend an invitation to all Political Parties and Independent Presidential Candidates who have an interest to shape the political landscape of Ghana to join as soon as possible.
