: A Collaboration Of The Pnf And Young Patriots 15th February 2012.
Ladies and gentlemen of the Media thank you very much for honouring the invitation to this press conference. The purpose of this press conference is to announce to the people of Ghana in general and the good people of Tamale specifically, that on the 5th of March, 2012, the Young Patriots and the Progressive Nationalist Forum will hold a joint demonstration in Tamale dubbed Atta Miisiim Demo (GHANAIANS PAINFUL AFFLICTIONS UNDER ATTA).
On the 19th of January, 2012 the Progressive Nationalist Forum and Young Patriots issued a statement requesting the President of the Republic of Ghana to within 21 working days reinstate Mr Martin Amidu to ensure the successful prosecution of Mr Alfred Agbesi Woyome and refund of all the monies he has defrauded the state of Ghana. Secondly that the President should put all such refunded monies from the Woyome gate scandal into SADA to ensure a successful implementation of the SADA programme. The time has lapsed and none of the above has been met
Ladies and gentlemen, on the 20th of June, 2011 or thereabout, the spokesperson of the Vice President, Mr John Jinapor indicated to the people of Ghana (see daily graphic, 21st June 2011) that the Vice President had secured a loan of $340m for SADA. On the 24th of December 2011, President Mills travelled to the United States to supposedly meet Mr Jeffry sachs and also secured a phantom $18m loan for SADA. A week ago, the Vice President again granted an interview to the effect that GHC200m was ready for SADA and that a cheque of GHC100M was ready and will be in the SADA account the following day.
The above monies are the equivalent of the GHC600m that the NDC government should have committed to SADA by today. Ladies and gentlemen, as we speak to you, not a penny of these monies have been committed to the SADA account.
The SADA secretariat is empty and not a single project has been completed in the name of SADA. The sheanut processing plant, groundnut processing plant, the Hydro project at Pawlugu, the fufulsu-Damango road, the Bolga-Bawku road, the expansion of the Bolga general hospital and the Wa polyclinic are but a few projects for which ‘Sakawa’ sods have been cut by the Vice President for which no brick has been laid.
The continuous deception of northerners by the NDC government and especially the Vice President must stop. We have been taken for a ride for far too long.
It is our contention, ladies and gentlemen that Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu, Dr Kwabena Duffour, Mr Barton Oduro and Mr Alex Segbefia conspired with Alfred Woyome to defraud the state of Ghana of the gargantuan sum of GHC 51.2m. The monies should therefore be retrieved from all of them and put into the SADA account to ameliorate the suffering of the people of Northern Ghana.
Ladies and gentlemen of the media according to the bank statement submitted to EOCO by Unibank, the chief beneficiary of the Woyome gargantuan booty and fraud is professor Mills. The Woyome saga portrays Prof Mills as the most corrupt, incompetent and to borrow the President’s own words, the most naive and criminally minded leader in the history of Ghana. Other NDC beneficiaries of the Woyome booty are;
1. Dr Kwabena Adjie – Chairman NDC
2. Mr Aseidu Nketia - General Secretary NDC
3. Mr Koku Anyidoho – Director of Communication at the Presidency
4. Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa –Deputy Minister of Information
5. Mr Yaw Boateng Djan- National Organizer NDC
6. Mr Kojo Twum-Boafo- Free Zones Board
7. Mr Stan Dogbe – Cousin of Mr Woyome and Presidential Staffer
8. Mr Felix Ofuso Kwakyi- Communications team NDC
9. Anita De-Soussa- Womens Organizer NDC
10. Mr Benjamin Achina Brentuo- Communications team NDC
Dear pressmen, we also want to bring to the notice of the people of Ghana the intimidation of the people of Northern Ghana by the NDC government and its misuse of the Ghana police to arrest and imprison people of differing opinions in Tamale. Mr Yauza, Habib, Shaibu, Imoro and Majeed have been in police custody since the NDC took over in 2009.
The gentlemen have been accused of suspected murder but their trials have been inconclusive because the state has not been able to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt. Information available to us is that Hon Haruna Iddrisu, Hon Inusah Fuseini and Hon Alhajji Abubakari Sumani all MP’s in Tamale have brought pressure to bear on the Regional Coordinating Council, the Regional Minister, the Regional Police Command and the Regional State Attorney to ensure the continuous incarceration of these gentlemen because of the effect their release will have on their electoral fortunes in the region. We are calling on the mentioned MP’s to with immediate effect, stop interfering with the case and allow the gentlemen to enjoy their constitutional rights and liberties for bail.
We are demanding that within 14 working days ;
1 All monies stolen under the pretext of Judgement debt especially the 51.2m Woyome money should be immediately put into the SADA account to ensure the implementation of the SADA programme to the benefit of the three Northern Regions.
2 Cause the arrest and prosecution of Betty Mould Iddrisu, Dr Kwabena Duffour, Barton Oduro and Alex segbefia for aiding and abetting a fraudster, and also for wilfully causing financial lose to the state.
3 That the Properties and accounts of all the 10 beneficiaries of the stolen Woyome money as well as Madam Betty Mould , Alex Segbefia, Barton Oduro and Kwabena Duffour should be frozen and kept in trust until they are proven not guilty.
4 That Mr Yauza, Majeed, Imoro and Habib should be granted bail if the state cannot prove its case against them.
Ladies and gentlemen of the Press, our proposed route for the demonstration on 5th March is as follows:
1. Central Point- Zegbeli Park to Nyohini roundabout, Stadium roundabout through stadium road to Chorgu roundabout, Agric road to agric traffic light, Bolga road towards the Central business district, Terminate at the Police park while leadership and Pressmen present petition to the Regional Minister
God Bless our homeland Ghana and God bless the good people of Tamale.
