--Part 2

Following Ghana Palaver’s publication that the central region is beginning to see beyond the façade covering the supposed Kufour’s love for the region coupled with Professor Atta Mills’ visits to the region a few weeks ago, and have therefore decided to go back to their root (NDC), the New Patriotic Party is desperately doing every thing possible to salvage their image.

Last Friday we published the outcome of Institute of Economic Affairs sponsored crisis meeting by the national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Elmina Beach Resort. This week we continue with the rest of statements by other members of the executives—a pointer to the fact that the region is getting out of the hands of the New Patriotic Party. The General Secretary of the party Nana Ohene Ntow noted at the meeting that the region is now unstable which makes the leadership of the party very concerned adding that report reaching the party on Professor Attah Mills’ visits to the region is very frightening making the party’s hope on the region very jittery.

He begged the regional executives to close their ears to the NDC propaganda message and help the party win the region again otherwise it will spell doom for the party. The Second National Vice Chaiperson Mrs Agnes Okudzeto also admitted that Professor Mills rounds is bringing problems to the party and also begged the regional executives to work hard to win the region for the party. The National Organiser of the Party Lord Commey also admitted that Mills is the problem and promised to spend most of his time in the region.

He revealed that they are going to wage a full scale war on Arti Morkwa and Mfantseman East constituencies noting that it would be politically under siege. Professor Mills door to door campaign is giving the New Patriotic Party sleepless nights following the realization that the party is on the verge of losing the Central Region and therefore are doing everything possible to maintain their grip on that region.
