Residents of Manhyia South, the constituency of Vice-Presidential candidate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh are optimistic that the ticket of NAPO and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will secure victory for the NPP in the December polls.
Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb reporter Nima Yakubu ahead of the running mate's outdooring, residents extolled NAPO for his exploits and achievements in the constituency and the region at large.
According to the townsfolk, the announcement of Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as running mate made them ecstatic, stating that his appointment would positively influence their voting decision.
Likewise, other residents displeased with NAPO lamented the lack of developmental works in the constituency.
The New Patriotic Party is outdooring Dr Opoku Prempeh to the people of the Ashanti Region following confirmation of his candidacy.
Currently, dignitaries from the political sphere, traditional leaders and party sympathisers are trooping into the Jubilee Park in Kumasi to witness the event.
Earlier today, the leadership of the NPP formally presented NAPO to the Asantehene.
The presentation was in line with the party’s plan to introduce their choice of running mate to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who holds significant influence and respect in the region.
