Bawumia donates GH¢200,000 to victims of Kejetia market fire

The Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has presented a cash sum of GH¢200,000 to the victims of the Kumasi Kejetia market fire outbreak.

Part of the Kumasi Kejetia market was razed by fire on March 15, 2023, affecting about 50 shops, with 33 of them completely burnt.

The Vice President, who visited the market on March 20, 2023, promised that the government would support the victims to return to business. However, the promise had not been fulfilled until now.

As part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti region, the Vice President and NPP flagbearer presented GH¢200,000 to support the victims when he met with the traders in the market today, Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

The announcement of the donation was made by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi.
