The outstanding public life of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been recognized and applauded by a top Muslim cleric.

The Chief Imam of Amansie West in the Ashanti region, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, who made the observation, said Dr. Bawumia has led a perfect public life without blemish so far.

He particularly heaped tons of praise on Dr. Bawumia for the way he has positively carried himself, first as Nana Akufo-Addo’s running mate and now as Vice President of the country.

According to the influential Muslim cleric, Dr. Bawumia respects people he comes into contact with without considering their religious, tribal, educational, or social backgrounds.

Alhaji Mohammed also commended Dr. Bawumia for leading a decent life, stressing that the NPP leader doesn’t insult others on political platforms, saying, “He is a perfect gentleman.”

“Dr. Bawumia leads a simple life, and he respects people without considering their religious, educational, financial, or social status, and this is a mark of a good leader,” the Chief Imam noted.

Speaking during a durbar to welcome Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP Vice Presidential Candidate, to Manso Adubia on Sunday, he predicted that Dr. Bawumia would be a good president.

He therefore entreated the electorate to, in the interest of the country’s proper development, cast their ballots for Dr. Bawumia since he has proven to have what it takes to lead the country.

Dr. Prempeh, aka ‘Napo,’ in his succinct remarks, recounted his tireless efforts as Education Minister in restoring Arabic teaching in schools after the NDC had canceled it.

The NPP Vice Presidential Candidate said living in peace, unity, and harmony is key to ensuring the effective and smooth development of the country, so the people should take note.

He said Ghanaians, irrespective of their tribal or religious backgrounds, are one people, so they should see themselves as such and work together to develop the country.
