The 2008 Vice-Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be visiting the Northern, Upper West and the Upper East Regions this week. He arrives in Tamale Tuesday morning.
Dr Bawumia's selection as Nana Akufo-Addo's Running Mate has been welcomed by Ghanaians across the country.
He will be in the north to visit with the chiefs and people of the three Regions, formally introduce himself, ask for their blessings, preach our Party's vision for the future of Ghana and seek the support of the peoples.
The credentials he brings to the ticket excite us as much as the work he will put in whilst in office to ensure the manifestation of Nana Akufo-Addo's vision. While in the North for this introductory visit, Dr Bawumia will meet with traditional rulers, religious leaders, party members and other groups. He will be there for seven days.
His team will be led by the National Party Chairman, Peter MacManu and the National Campaign Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey. Others in the entourage will be: Dr. K.K. Apraku, National Campaign Director; Yaw Osafo-Maafo, a member of the National Campaign Team; Boniface Abubakar Saddique; Hajia Alima Mahama; Alhaji Jawula; Charles Bintim, Minister of State; Prince Andani; Rita Asobayire, National Womens Organiser; John Boadu, National Youth Organiser; Mustapha Hamid, Spokesperson for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; Yoni Kulendi, Special Aide to the Running-Mate and ace Ghanaian musician, Daddy Lumba among others.
