Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, the former CEO of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has publicly endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He is confident that Dr. Bawumia will place Ghana on a solid footing and set the country on a path to prosperity if elected president in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking in an interview on Channel One during the unveiling of Matthew Opoku Prempeh as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate, Dr. Kokofu noted that the pairing of Dr. Bawumia and NAPO is a “solid ticket,” expressing his confidence that their partnership will propel Ghana forward and drive progress.

“We have pledged to resolve whatever matters there are, whatever differences or whatever shortfalls we encountered. Dr. Bawumia is prepared to reverse all those things and set the nation on a very sound footing. The ticket is solid, and it’s going to help Ghana move forward," he noted.

He said the party is poised to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP in the upcoming elections, pledging their unflinching support for the Bawumia-NAPO ticket.

Dr. Kokofu further described the Bawumia-NAPO ticket as perfect. “Very much so, not to me alone. We in the Ashanti Region, are very grateful to the flagbearer for considering one of us in the Ashanti Region in the NPP."

The NPP is scheduled to officially introduce Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as "NAPO," as the running mate of Bawumia on July 9, 2024. The unveiling takes place in Kumasi.

The event is expected to attract significant figures within the party, including President Akufo-Addo, the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, and other key members.
