The Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has touted the superiority of his party's collation system against that of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Dr. Omane Boamah, the concession address by the flagbearer of the ruling party, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, following the apparent defeat of the NPP in the December 7, 2024 general election would have come earlier if the NPP had an efficient collation system like the NDC.

"With over 37,000 presidential results from polling stations collated by our National Elections and IT Directorate' way' before 10 pm on election night, Bawumia was at a paltry 41.21%.

"Why would he not concede the following day? Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia actually delayed! Because he could have conceded that night IF AND ONLY IF the NPP collation system was as fast as ours," he wrote in a Facebook post on Friday, December 27, 2024.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, some 15 hours after the close of polls, conceded defeat to President-elect John Dramani Mahama on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

The December 7 general election results, as later declared by the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, saw Mr. Mahama of the NDC claiming victory with 56.55% of the total valid votes against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's 41.61%.

The NDC also claimed a significant majority in the parliamentary election.
