Braimah Adam Salifu, MP for Salaga South Constituency
The Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency in the Northern Region, Braimah Adam Salifu (uncle sally) has admonished the people of the constituency to be patient with him and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to deliver on their campaign promises.
The lawmakers said the people of Salaga South should be grateful to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing their own brother Dr. Clifford Braimah as the Managing Director of Ghana Water Company Limited
Mr. Salifu made this appeal when he received and handed over a brand New Shackman f2000 water tanker with registration number GX4568-17 which will augment the supply of water to residents of Salaga and its environs.
The Managing Director of Ghana Water Company Limited, Dr. Braimah Clifford on his part, appealed to the people of Salaga to help the assembly to keep the tanker on road to serve the purpose for which it was brought to the community.
“The cost of the tanker is not small money, that is 85,000 US Dollars tanker standing there and so you have to ensure its in good condition always to be able to supply water to various areas as the Company work towards rehabilitating the water system” Dr Clifford advised
The MD added that plans are far advanced for a long term solution to the perennial water situation in the East Gonja District and their neighbors in the Kpandai District.
“I have since assuming office sent a survey team to the Lonto area to access the possibility of tapping the water from Lonto where the water is very deep and will cost less to treat”.
The DCE Mr. Mohammed Tamimu on behalf of the chiefs and people of Salaga thanked the Ghana Water Company for the gesture and assured the commitment of the District to put the tanker to effective use.
