The National Democratic Congress has called for an immediate investigation into the abduction of Sylvia Patience Baah, the Airline Airport Manager of Emirates, by alleged operatives of the National Security.

According to the party, they have pleaded with the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo-Dampare, to conduct an impartial and transparent investigation into the incident and to prosecute those implicated in the abduction of Sylvia Baah.

In a statement released by the NDC National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, the party condemned the act, describing it as "brazen impunity and outright lawlessness by supposed officers of law enforcement and state security."

The statement continued, "The NDC hereby calls on the Inspector-General of Police to expedite investigations into this matter. We demand immediate impartial and transparent investigations leading to the arrest and prosecution of all persons associated with this dastardly incident to serve as a deterrent to others."

The legal practitioner added that the incident has tarnished the country's reputation and cast a negative light on its image.

He lamented the abuse of power among some National Security operatives, accusing them of taking the law into their own hands and terrorising citizens.

The NDC has, therefore, called for the prosecution of anyone involved, urging that it should serve as a deterrent to others.
