Biometric Voter Registration progresses smoothly in Kwabre West

The phase two of the Biometric Voter Registration, is progressing smoothly in the Kwabre West Constituency with no reported incident at any of the registration centres in the area.

The machines generally have also been functioning well.

A visit to some of the centres by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) showed that, the long queues that characterized the phase one of the exercise has completely gone.

The applicants from time to time trickled in to go through the process.

At the Atimatim Light House Assemblies of God Church, a total of 739 people had been registered and issued with voter identification (ID) cards under the phase 2 as of Tuesday.

Mr Francis Adukomu, an assistant registration officer, said the response of the people and their conduct as well as that of the political party agents had been encouraging.

He appealed to all qualified voters yet to register, not to hesitate to get their names in the electoral roll.

Mr Kofi Amoako-Mensah, the registration officer at the Atimatim Methodist Church ‘A”, said the centre had registered 637 people and the officers had not encountered any technical challenges.**
