A former Attorney General under the erstwhile New Patriotic Party administration has blamed the media for the wrangling within his party.
According to Nii Ayikoi Otoo, the bickering within the NPP has been exaggerated by the media who keep asking questions that end up stirring controversy within the party.
The general secretary of the Elephant family, Kwabena Agyepong, took to the media Monday to vent his spleen on Nana Addo and some party executives, alleging they are working against him.
He revealed he was unaware of the ‘Rise and Build’ tour and only got to know of it on the internet.
Flagbearer of the NPP Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo later issued a stern warning to all members of the party to desist from discussing internal matters on the media landscape, adding such behaviour will affect the fortunes of the party in the run-up to the 2016 elections.
Speaking on Morning Starr with host Robert Nii Arday Clegg, on Starr 103.5FM, the former head of legal and constitutional affairs of the NPP said the media has failed to highlight the issues in other parties and is focused on discussing issues in the NPP.
“Blame it on the media rather, you see as far as I am concerned the politics have become a different ball game because there are plenty media who broadcast in different languages and they are hungry for news, and they keep calling and ask questions…I am looking at it from this angle”.
