Bolgatanga, Dec.13, GNA - The Bolgatanga Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Roland Ayoo, on Tuesday stated that it was time the NDC gave adequate positions to northerners to use their experience to enable the party to win power come the next 2008 election.
Speaking to the Ghana Agency (GNA) in Bolgatanga, the Constituency Secretary expressed his dissatisfaction about the few Northerners in the top positions of the party and stressed that the Constitution of the NDC categorically stated that there should be a regional balance representation. He said it was only through that, that the party could strategically win more votes for victory in the next elections.
Mr Ayoo further appealed to the party hierarchy to consider increasing the appointment of the youth to occupy the top positions of the party since the youth form majority of the populace. The Constituency Secretary also impressed upon all party supporters and sympathisers not to be complacent but to work harder by explaining the good messages and ideology to the people. He indicated that Ghanaians were already aware of the suffering they were undergoing due to the economic hardship brought about by the New Patriotic Party Government and were ready to vote the NDC back to power for a change.
" Many Ghanaians cannot afford a square meal a day let alone to provide for their family basic needs'', he stressed. He therefore, called on Ghanaians to examine their life situation and vote the NDC back to enable it to redeem them from their plight.
