Kuntanase (Ash), Dec. 5, GNA - Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Bosomtwe Constituency said one of his main priorities when voted into office would be the development of Lake Bosomtwe into a first class tourists site. He described the Lake as an untapped gold mine and said when properly developed, it could become the number one tourist site in the country.

Speaking to the GNA at Kuntanase on his plans when voted into office, Mr Osei-Mensah said as part of efforts to develop the Lake site, he would negotiate with the Government and the Private Sector to construct a cable transport system from Kokoado to Abono to facilitate aerial transportation to the lake.

The cable transport, which would be used by the tourists, would help generate revenue for the District Assembly and the Government.

To promote speedy development in the area, Mr Osei-Mensah said he would work to unite all the people in the area and establish Bosomtwe Development Fund to solicit funds from nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) and individuals from the area to provide social infrastructure for the people.

He said he would always work with the people to identify their problems and seek solutions together.

This, he said, would make the people to take part in the taking of decisions that affected their welfare and development.

On education, Mr Osei-Mensah said he would concentrate on the provision of scholarships for needy pupils and to support the welfare of teachers in the Constituency.

He advised his supporters to refrain from acts that could hamper the smooth conduct of the elections and urged them to go to the polling stations early to cast their votes.
